The Institute of Chemical Biology (ICB) at Shenzhen Bay Laboratory is committed to integrating the scientific principles and methodologies of chemistry, biology, and related disciplines to understand and manipulate biological systems at the molecular level.

ICB brings together a distinguished group of scientists with extensive expertise in various aspects of chemical biology, including determining the structure and function of biological macromolecules, designing methods for bioorthogonal chemistry and molecular imaging, and discovering and synthesizing natural products. ICB also conducts translational research targeting major diseases such as cancer, metabolic disorders, liver diseases, inflammation, and degenerative diseases, with the aim of developing new therapeutics. The mission of ICB is to support the development of innovative medicine in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) , positioning Shenzhen as a leading force in the healthcare industry in GBA, China, and worldwide.
